The cost of Invisalign® varies from one individual to another based on the specifics of their personalized treatment plan. On average, the total price of Invisalign® treatment typically falls in the $3,500 to $8,000 range. Though most dental insurance plans do not cover the total cost of Invisalign® or braces, we offer a number of other payment options, such as flexible financing.

Treatable Causes for Invisalign®

Traditional metal braces were used to correct all types of misalignments. Unfortunately, while straightening teeth, they also caused problems. The metal brackets and wires could be irritating to the cheeks and tongue.

The Benefits of Invisalign®

Invisalign® is more comfortable than traditional braces. Traditional metal brackets have sharp edges that dig and cut into your lips and cheeks. They can leave sores that are difficult to heal. You can try applying wax to the outside of your brackets, but the wax often falls off quickly. Removable aligners are custom-made for your teeth. They have smooth edges made with high-quality resin so you won’t have any jagged metal digging into your mouth.

Because of their custom fit, Invisalign® also has more precise control over straightening your teeth. During your treatment, you will receive a set of aligners that slowly adjust your teeth horizontally, vertically, and rotationally until each tooth is set in its proper place. Each of these movements is precisely timed by professionals to be the most comfortable sequence possible.

The Invisalign® Process

While the Invisalign® treatment process is capable of correcting a multitude of orthodontic problems, there are certain complicated conditions that it can’t fix. For example, some issues that Invisalign can fix are overcrowding, gapped teeth, overbites, underbites, crossbites, and open bites. Invisalign® has difficulty correcting severely angled and rotated teeth, or closing in large spaces. During your consultation, our own Dr. Kate will complete an examination to determine if you’re a good candidate for the Invisalign® treatment process.

Who’s a Good Candidate for Invisalign®?

Invisalign® is best for those who have mild to moderate bite issues. More severe malocclusion problems will need to be treated with traditional braces, as these have the ability to apply more pressure onto teeth that need serious correction. Invisalign® is meant to adjust a few teeth at a time.

Frequently Asked Invisalign® Questions

Does Invisalign® get stained?

Invisalign® is made of a clear, sturdy plastic that is designed to resist staining. However, over time it may become stained from things like coffee, tea, or red wine. If your Invisalign® does become stained, you can try cleaning it with toothpaste and a toothbrush.

When can I take my aligners out?

You should take your aligners out to eat and drink, and to brush and floss your teeth. Other than that, you should keep them in for 20-22 hours a day to ensure that they are effective.

How does swapping out aligners work?

Every two weeks, you will switch to a new set of aligners. As your teeth gradually shift into place, the aligners will put pressure on different areas of your teeth. This is how they eventually reach the desired final position.

How long does a consultation take?

At Vida Dental, we understand that your time is important. That’s why our consultations are typically short and sweet, lasting about 30 minutes. During your consultation, we will answer any questions you have about Invisalign® and help you determine if it’s the right treatment for you.

Is Invisalign® uncomfortable?

Invisalign® is designed to be comfortable, and most patients report very little discomfort when wearing them. You may experience some soreness or tenderness in your teeth and gums when you first start wearing Invisalign®, but this should go away after a few days.
